Load safety was clearly demonstrated

High attendance at health and safety day

The health and safety day that took place at Bischof+Klein Lengerich in September was focused on the well-being of our employees. Everyone was invited to find out all about the various aspects of a safe and healthy working day and to get involved themselves.

At four interactive stations, the employees were able to experience at first hand just how important safety in the workplace is. The drug intoxication glasses, which simulated being under the influence of alcohol, were particularly impressive. The EarBox clearly demonstrated the effects of different noise levels on the body and why hearing protection is indispensable. The Dermalux station showed how clean the hands really are after washing them. On the load securing model, the employees learned how transported goods are secured properly and, quite incidentally, how to safely stow their shopping in their private vehicles.

Besides work safety, preventive healthcare also played an important role. Screening offers enabled staff to check their own state of health directly on site. Skin screening, screening to measure the carotid arteries and detect possible circulatory disorders, and hearing and eye tests were particularly in demand. The back check focused on back health – an important issue in numerous areas of work.

As an employer, Bischof+Klein also contributes to the workforce's fitness with its bicycle leasing offer. During the health and safety day, Bischof+Klein received a certificate for this special offer. For the past ten years, employees have been able to lease a bicycle via their employer. This offers tax benefits and, above all, makes expensive e-bikes more affordable. Around 1,000 employees have taken this offer up so far.
