From upheaval to optimism

The work in the clean room requires special knowledge

Enormous growth in clean room packaging

Heiko Schumacher took over CleanFlex® clean room packaging sales during turbulent times. "From upheaval to optimism" is how he describes the enormous upswing in this market segment.

Following the run on CleanFlex® products for the vaccination campaigns in the fight against the coronavirus, demand initially dropped off significantly at the end of the pandemic. "However, we've been experiencing a complete turnaround since the fourth quarter of 2024. We have successfully completed a number of projects, the markets are picking up again – and we're moving full steam ahead."

The increase in demand for our clean room solutions has a great deal to do with new products in the pharmaceuticals sector: from the much-discussed "weight-loss injection" and progress in tumor and vaccine research to the trend towards self-injections for chronic diseases. We are benefiting from this in multiple regards – thanks to increased unit numbers, innovative applications, and the expansion of our international customers. We are optimally positioned for this with the extended class 5 clean room.

While growth had been factored in, this exceeds all expectations. In order to improve lead times and cope with the increase in demand, we are significantly ramping up our capacities. The many new employees who are being recruited this year are helping us to do this. Investment in two additional lines in the existing clean room is planned for the coming year.

At the same time, we want to broaden our base and are scoping out opportunities in other markets such as the semiconductor industry, for instance. Jazek Emde, previously head of CleanFlex® sales, has now become head of business development in market segment 3. He is being supported by our new colleague Dr. Alexander Eich.

The whole organization is required to pitch in, no matter whether it involves the recruitment of new employees by HR or their familiarization by the experienced clean room teams, the adaptation of structures and processes, or customer support by the sales department.

Conclusion: What started out as upheaval has developed into genuine optimism. With new markets, a strong team, and investment in our clean room technologies, we are optimally equipped for sustainable growth.
