Dear Employees,
The flood of bad news during the past few months since the last employee magazine was published has had a virtually paralyzing effect: atmospheric disturbances in transatlantic relations, the no-confidence vote and new elections in Germany, armed conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, poor economic data ... It feels good to take a look at our new employee magazine, because it shows that we can shape the future to positive effect if we share our central values and tackle things together.
For instance, we once again got this year off to a start with a WorldStar Packaging Award, this time for our recyclable mono-material laminate for coffee products. This issue also provides information about further new developments with which we are proactively meeting the future requirements of the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
The two ultra-modern blown film extruders in our extended clean room of class 5 at rest in Lengerich have been in operation since April. We are proud to be a leading player in the sector of high-purity films and packaging. The extension also offers us options for the future and will enable us to respond quickly to rising demand.
Parts of our sales department have been restructured in an impressive process that reflects our new culture. This will strengthen our customer relationships and continue to foster joint development work. We are looking forward with anticipation to the momentum that will arise from this.
A generational change is looming at our plant in Poland: Plant manager Ginter Maicher is retiring after almost 24 years. He has made Bischof+Klein Polska what it is today: a key center of competence within the GROUP. We would like to thank Ginter Maicher for his invaluable commitment in Walce and to Bischof+Klein. At the same time, we would like to welcome his successor, Leszek Demciuch, and look forward to working together with him successfully.
We are proud and delighted to welcome a whole group of new talented staff to our company. They will help us to be a stable partner for our customers in these unsettled times. The latter can continue to rely on our know-how and innovativeness in the future.
We would like to thank you all for your valuable commitment to Bischof+Klein and wish you and your families a carefree summer. Together, we will continue to work on the successful future of our company. Let our ten values become tangible and effective in our daily activities, so that “typically Bischof+Klein” is meant in the very best sense!

After the editorial deadline, we received the news that CEO Dr. Tobias Lührig will be leaving the company at his own request in order to take up a new position. Supervisory board chairman Herbert Forker stated: “Dr. Lührig has been instrumental in shaping the company and guiding it successfully through a period of significant change. We therefore sincerely regret his decision to leave. We would like to thank him for his outstanding work and wish him continued success for his personal and professional future.”
