Spouts are an important part of our stand up pouches for liquid products. In a project with a major supplier, we are currently testing the use of spouts made of PCR*. 

Are spouts with PCR machine runnable and do they have good sealing properties? These are the key questions involved in the tests with spouts using different PCR contents. 

For some time now, we have been able to manufacture our stand up pouches themselves with a PCR content of up to 30 percent. The mono material pouches consist almost 100 percent of PE and are almost completely recyclable. 

“Market interest is very high,” reports market manager Patrick Börger. Tests focusing on the detergent segment are currently underway with key accounts.

* Post-consumer recyclate is material recycled from waste after use.
