“SET – Schüler entdecken Technik” (schoolchildren discover technology) is the motto of a dedicated project by Bischof+Klein with Konzell elementary school. On six afternoons, twelve schoolchildren had the opportunity to independently build electrical circuits, attach components with a soldering iron, and disassemble electrical devices. They were also able to experiment with resistors and learn a variety of technical skills.

The fourth-graders were supported by trainees Lukas Preiß and Christopher Burs, who taught the kids how to safely use wire strippers, side cutters, and soldering irons.

After an introduction to the project, the children built various devices under the instruction of the trainees. These included an LED flashlight, an LED alternating flasher circuit, and a loud wailing siren.

The objective of the initiative is to fill kids with enthusiasm for technology and encourage them to experiment. This can also influence their future choice of vocation. Technicians and tradespeople are also in demand at Bischof+Klein Konzell.

School principal Manfred Schmidbauer expressed his thanks for the generous sponsorship and support of the project. During the final teaching module, the elementary schoolchildren received their participation certificates from Ms. Helfrich of the Technik für Kinder association (TfK; technology for kids). Mayor Hans Kienberger, who is also a work safety specialist at Bischof+Klein, was present as well. The schoolchildren expressed their thanks to the tutors and head of training Wolfgang Schollerer with a big round of applause and a lovingly designed souvenir folder.
