Reinforcements from Konzell

The international team in Pont-Audemer

International cooperation pays off

An unusual collaboration with Bischof+Klein Konzell took place at the end of last year. In November, four German colleagues traveled to Pont-Audemer to help out with staff shortages in the blown film extrusion department.

A virtual shop floor meeting had previously taken place with the plant managers in Pont-Audemer and Konzell. A call for interested parties was then put out in Konzell.

Several curious employees from Konzell each signed up to travel to beautiful Normandy for two weeks in November.

They were warmly welcomed by their colleagues in Pont-Audemer. They gave them a tour of the plant and a comprehensive introduction to the local conditions. The teams were then able to get off to an immediate start. Despite initial language barriers – none of the German colleagues speaks French – everyone quickly settled into a working pattern together.

A lucky coincidence proved beneficial to the Franco-German teams: One of the lines in Pont-Audemer had previously been in operation in Konzell. One of them had actually completed his final examination on it. The Google translator helped out whenever words were missing.

The time simply flew by and the Konzell employees used the weekend in between for excursions around the region. Looking back, everyone who took part is grateful for this opportunity to engage in international cooperation, which was enriching for all involved.

A big thank you to everyone who took part!
