Making work easier
Günther Kollmer with the new winding shaft cart
Cart for winding shafts
Until recently, the daily routine in the hygiene conversion department at Bischof+Klein Konzell included a physically strenuous task: manually lifting the winding shafts out of the unwinding lines, which also posed a potential health risk. After all, the winding shafts weigh 30 to 40 kilograms.
Günther Kollmer was familiar with the difficulties involved in this work step. He suggested purchasing a special transport cart. He was aware that a similar cart was already successfully being used on the AD Plastic line.
The new cart not only enables staff to transport the winding shafts securely, but also to lift them ergonomically. Günther Kollmer’s idea therefore extensively helps to protect backs.
Although this measure does not lead to any direct savings, its value cannot be underestimated. The health and well-being of our employees are of crucial importance and foster productivity in the long term.
