A look behind the scenes

“Industrial Week” at Bischof+Klein

The first “Industrial Week” in Lengerich offered schoolchildren the unique opportunity to experience four of the town’s biggest companies at first hand. On September 19, Bischof+Klein opened its doors for an exciting look at the world of plastic packaging.

At the start of the event, Maxim Stalev, a trainee plastic and rubber technologist, and Noel Hoherz, a trainee industrial clerk, welcomed the six adolescents with a short presentation. Besides general information about the company, they also presented the extensive range of training offers to the pupils.

Maxim Stalev subsequently took the group on a tour of the company to give them an idea of the various steps involved in producing flexible plastic packaging. They then proceeded to the training workshop, where Ruben Debbert was disassembling an assembly. Like Maxim Stalev and Noel Hoherz, he too is a third-year trainee industrial mechanic. Under his instruction, the pupils reassembled the assembly. That not only required manual dexterity, but also patience and accuracy.

The day was brought to a close with a round of feedback during which all unanswered questions were clarified. The participants’ feedback was entirely positive. They particularly praised the practical insight and the friendly atmosphere at Bischof+Klein. They took a few small giveaways home with them as a reminder of this special day.

A successful day that sparked curiosity about the industry and strengthened interest in the diverse training opportunities at Bischof+Klein.
