Work culture shaped!
Jubilee ceremony and retirement
22 staff celebrating jubilees and eight retirees from 2022 and 2023 accepted the invitation to the jubilee and retirement celebration at “Zum Wirt” in Denkzell. Plant manager Armin Kienberger paid tribute to them for 25 and 40 years of employment at the company. Three of the four staff celebrating 40-year jubilees had actually completed their training at Bischof+Klein.
“In an age of rapid changes, it is people like you who form the stable foundation of our company with their experience, their loyalty, and their unwavering commitment,” said Armin Kienberger in his address. “Each jubilee that we celebrate this evening is a tale of challenges that have been overcome and successes that we have achieved together.”
Plant manager Armin Kienberger took the guests on a journey through 40 years of Bischof+Klein Konzell. Many a hall has been torn down and new ones built. The machinery fleet has grown and been modernized. Staff numbers have increased from 242 in 1980 to over 800 in 2018. Numerous machines have been christened with sparkling wine and oompah music. The last paper sack came off the line in 1997; a wreath was subsequently laid on the line, named “Rotraut.” In 1994, Bischof+Klein Konzell trod new ground with its first lamination line. The introduction of the U-Pack® in 2002 marked another milestone. Awards were won time and again for innovative products.
Armin Kienberger thanked the staff celebrating jubilees and the retirees for their many years of loyalty and commitment. “With your labor, you have contributed to the company’s growth and established a work culture that is characterized by respect, cohesion, absolute reliability, and commitment. Values that we are returning to today in order to remain successful.”
Johann Schlecht started his working life by training to become a packaging engineer at Bischof+Klein. He worked on the AD Plastic for almost four decades. He now works on the slitter.
Packaging engineer was Ludwig Heigl’s second training vocation. The first computers arrived at Bischof+Klein Konzell in 1988. He underwent further training to become an IT technician and looked after the IT hardware and software. In 2002 he completed his further training to become an IT systems engineer. He headed the IT department in Konzell until 2017 before then handing over the reins to a younger member of staff and going part-time.
Helmut Wenzl started off as the fifth trainee packaging engineer and is now part of the management team in Konzell. After a few years of professional experience, he underwent further training to become an industrial foreman (IHK). In 1999, he became head of the AD Plastic department, before becoming head of the Printing department in 2001. He then completed further part-time training to become a technical business administrator. Since 2006, he has been the senior head of the Printing department with printing environment. Absolutely remarkable: since joining the company in 1982, he has only had 31 days off sick!
Head of the Human Resources department Ilse Baumgartner started her career at Bischof+Klein over 40 years ago on the telephone switchboard and subsequently worked as a secretary. From 1999 to 2016, she was the head of commercial training. She has been the head of the Human Resources department since May 2003. From 1992 to 2014, she was involved in the works council and was actually its deputy chairperson until 2012.
